Ice Cream, Solar Eclipse, Learning how to Sew, and the Best of Sisters

Is it bad that your almost 17 month old's favorite word is ICE CREAM?! This was her first ice cream cone; however, she has had plenty of ice cream by bowl and spoon. She doesn't seem to mind how she gets it as long as she gets it!

We've enjoyed having lunch with Camden and Ana a couple times :) It sure made Emberlyn happy to be able to see her brother and sister during the day.

Emberlyn woke up from a nap and looked so incredibly beautiful to me. I mean she always looks beautiful, but this time it was different. I captured this picture of her and see absolute perfection.

A main reason why I am committing myself to restart this blog is because I LOVE looking back to see what each child looked like and was doing at each age. Here are all my babies at 16 months. I look at pictures of Eliana and have to do a double take because her and Emberlyn look identical to me at this age. I think they all look so much alike - love them.

Last weekend I helped Ana make a Reading Buddy Boa snake for her classroom. It was really nice being able to sit down and spend some quality one on one time with her. The day turned into an entire sewing lesson for both kids.

Here is Bella the Boa... she will rest around Ana's neck when she reads in class :)

Camden learning to sew - he made a pillow!

Both kids were incredibly proud of their creations. I certainly had a full heart.

Speaking of full hearts, we celebrated Gramma and Grampa living here for 1 year! Can't believe the last year - it's gone by so fast and so many nice memories have been made. Camden said his favorite part of having them here has been Gramma's cookies and coffee cake :) Ana said her favorite part is when she gets to spend the night with them.

We experienced a solar eclipse on August 21st! It was really quite cool for the kids to see. I enjoyed it as well. I recall the last solar eclipse, I was about Camden's age.

Emberlyn LOVES shoes! She loves to get them from the closet or laundry room, drag them out to the living room or wherever her heart desires... and try to put them on. I helped her a little bit with Ana's high tops and she did pretty good walking around in them. She definitely didn't get her love for shoes from me...

Apples are an all time favorite in this house! At least one a day :)

It's hard to believe that Eliana was pretty much potty trained by this age and I feel like emberlyn is ready, but I'm not! She's my baby...
goes over to the potty multiple times a day but doesn't want me to necessarily pull down her pants and put her on there. She has gone potty and poop, but I haven't been consistent yet. Possibly after our fall trip to Michigan in a couple months for Tyler's wedding.

As mentioned in a previous post, we had a little bit of a rough first week of Kindergarten with Eliana. When Eliana told me about her Prestigious Paw Award she earned shortly thereafter, I literally bursts into tears. I am so incredibly proud of her and how she changed her attitude and behavior toward school.

Seeing these girls together makes me so happy.  They have a bond that I hope and pray only gets stronger and deeper.  When Ana gets home from school, she enjoys asking Embi 'how the babies have been'... Ana puts all things aside and just wants to be with her little sister. I know this will change as she gets older and wants her own space, so I'm just soaking it all up as much as I can.
