Camden's first soccer game was just plain adorable.... sleet, snow, rain and all :) After the game Mimi sent a wonderful excerpt of the game that I thought I would share on the blog. Hope you enjoy her sense of humor - I sure do!
I will have you know that Tyler and I stood on the sidelines of the cutest soccer game we have ever seen and in the worst weather we have ever witnessed a sporting event in. Winds at 25 miles per hour, sleet, freezing rain and air temps of about 39 degrees. I did not sit in my car, nor did I complain (in front of anyone) or continually ask, "How much longer before the game is over?".
And...yes... I did keep score...you see I never had to sign the Pledge Card that promised I would be a Good Sport. (There are definitely advantages to having the title of "Mimi".) Camden's team lost 3-0. But don't tell anyone! I understand from the Post Game Conference Call that the Coaches had....there will be a lot of running at practice on Wednesday. Camden was wonderful and only was found laying in the middle of the field 9 times, while the other team members averaged about 15 per game. Camden immediately stopped kicking the ball and assisted them up to their feet....and watched the opposing team score. But....Good Sportsmanship comes before Winning!
He even left the field and came up to Uncle Tyler and said..."Calley, I would like you to meet my Uncle Tyler." G-O-A-L......But....being a polite young man comes before Winning!
When the game was over, Amanda had the nerve to tell me I could go wait in the car. Are you kidding me....I did not stand out here in this crap to have my grandson ask where I am and for his mother to say...."Oh...Mimi is in her car." Damn It....I am getting credit for being there for the entire game.
We treated ourselves to an After Game Breakfast at Bob Evans and re-lived every highlight of the game....and listened to Camden tattle on Uncle Tyler for leaning toward him, putting his arm on his chair and even breathing in his eye.
I sure hope next Saturday's game is as exciting.....I really enjoyed myself, and am so proud of Camden...and Coach Kyle.
Since Camden's bathroom is under construction, he doesn't have a bath and has learned to take a shower. Poor guy was deathly afraid of the shower until he got these cool goggles to help keep the water out of his eyes.
He has also been spotted wearing the goggles to Lowe's with Daddy, watching TV, playing outside.... once he falls in love with something it's hard for him to part with it.
For the last week, Camden had been asking to make puppets. So we did just that.... a Camden puppet and baby Sister puppet.
Little Lady Update
It's been a long two weeks since I've updated on this little girl and the pregnancy. About a week and a half ago I started feeling horrible. I was having a lot of cramps and tightening and it felt somewhat like I did the day before I went into labor with Camden. I called the Dr. and they didn't waste any time giving me some tests and ultrasound to make sure I wasn't going into preterm labor. Thank God, I was not.
The cramping and tightening turned into painful stomach aches and nauseousness. I was pretty much in bed Friday night through Sunday night. I couldn't eat more a less stand up to get out of bed. Monday I went back to the Dr. and blood work confirmed I didn't have anything serious except was just severely dehydrated and I had lost 6 pounds. She suspects that I had a touch of a GI bug. The Dr. sent me home and said if I was not feeling better the next morning that I would be admitted to the hospital.
I did NOT want that to happen, so I took any advice she had of what I could try to get my appetite and fluids back up. She suggested popsicles and I was sold. That sounded fantastic to me! After 2 popsicles and an Ensure, I felt much better. Tuesday I definitely had my appetite back. I woke up early and was starving. What a wonderful feeling :)
I honestly don't know what I would have done without my family. God is so amazing to bless me with such caring and supportive family. I'm truly grateful and appreciate all the thoughts and prayers from those who live far away. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your help!
How Far along: 26 weeks and 2 days according to my due date of August 6. At today's Dr. appt my uterus is now measuring 3 weeks ahead (29.5 weeks). I have an ultrasound in a week to measure the actual size of the baby, but they may not move my due date.
Baby Girl's (tentative) Birthday!: C-section scheduled for July 30 if she doesn't come before then :)
Total weight gain: I lost 6 pounds with this yucky bug but today had put 3 of it back on, so I'm at a total of 2 pounds gained.
Sleep: Not great. Between the nauseousness and belly aches, it's been a toss and turn fest at night. Sorry Kyle!
Best Moment this week: Finding out I wasn't going into pre-term labor and everything is OK at the moment.
Movement: Although I was not feeling well, I was comforted by my little girl's movement. She was kicking up a storm the whole time I laid in bed.
Cravings: Well after being told to eat anything and everything just to put on weight, I've resorted to buttered pasta, popsicles, Ensure, cinnamon raisin toast, and oreos :) Thanks to my mother for her shopping trip for me!
What I miss: I've really missed going to the Y. I stopped a week ago when I was having cramping and tighenting. I'm not sure if I will continue with my membership or just cancel until after baby is born.
