Little Munchkin Update!

I realized shortly after getting pregnant that this blog will no longer be The Great Camdini.  I'm sure he won't mind sharing... I just need to figure out a new name :) In the mean time, here is a quick update on our little bun in the oven.

How Far along: 18.5 weeks. The baby is a little bigger than a bell pepper. 5.5 inches long and 7 ounces.

Total weight gain: The inevitable happened... I gained 1 pound this week.

Maternity clothes: Oh they are so comfy! I was thinking this time around is much nicer because I don't have to squeeze into work clothes every day.  Sunday mornings are bad enough trying to find something nice for church.

Sleep: I'm sleeping good most of the time.  Camden has been waking up every other night complaining of pains in his legs.  I think he's going through a growth spurt right now.  I noticed his 4T pants are about an inch off the floor now!

Best Moment this week: On two different days last week, Kyle was able to feel hard kicks from the baby.  We were both pretty excited and of course feeling the baby and hearing the heartbeat makes this so much more real. :) Baby's heart beat was at 144 this week.

Movement: Ditto from above.  This pregnancy's movements seem sort of different from what I remember of Camden's.  This baby kicks hard, while Cam's movements were more flutters
or tickles this early.

Gender: I still sort of think it's a boy, but keep going back and forth.  Camden is certain he is having a baby brother.  I said, "what if God gives us a sister?".... he became silent.  My 20 week ultrasound is scheduled for March 21, so we will see in less than 2 weeks! The Dr, took me off guard yesterday when she asked what I thought it was.  I said, "boy" right away.  She just sort of looked at me with a little smile and said, "Well... we'll see." Does she know something I don't?!? :)

Belly button: In.

Cravings: Fruit smoothies. Yummm! And thanks to Emily, I now add spinach to it making it extra healthy. For some reason, I usually eat a kiwi every day and still love peanut butter toast.  I learned again this week that when I make something yummy like cupcakes or brownies to send them to work with Kyle.  If they sit in the house... I eat them.

What I miss: I feel bad for always writing this, but I really missed wine this week (again).  Camden decided to hit a stage of back talking this week.  After numerous time outs and about 4 garbage bags of toys being taken away, I really could have used a nice glass of wine to relax.  Instead, I left Cam with Kyle and enjoyed a nice relaxing trip to the grocery store.  It didn't quite do it for me, so I indulged in those brownies when I got home.

Stretch Marks: Not yet.  Keeping fingers crossed....

What is different this time around: It's so much different for me this time around.  I've continued the progesterone shots.  Not many side effects except a sore butt for a day or two after.  The biggest difference is my diet and activity level.  With Camden, I ate a lot of Mexican, pizza, and McDonald's. Don't judge.  This time around, none of that really sounds good nor sits well with me.  I'm being a lot more conscious this time around and sure hope my eating habits stick around after the baby is born!
